An internationally
acclaimed composer, violinist and musical director, Michael Galasso began
his professional career composing the score for Robert Wilson's The
Life and Times of Josef Stalin. He has also worked with Lucinda
Childs, Andy DeGroat and other choreographers. He wrote his first film
score for the Swiss director Francis Reusser's Seuls (1981), which
premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. In 1994, Wong Kar-Wai selected a
piece of his music for the soundtrack of Chungking Express. His
current main activities are composing for film, dance and theatre and
collaborations with visual artists. His piece on the soundtrack of In
the Mood for Love was written expressly for the film.
